I'd say the benefits would not outweigh the inability to rotate all four if you put wider in the back. But for the record, as you play with the profile it is handling vs. comfort. Lower profile = better handling/less comfort. The width tire you get should depend largely on what width rim you have. Granted a wheel that can take a 245 will probably take a 255 but if you were near max with the 245, the 255 would obviously be worse. A 255 tire is ideal on a 9" wheel, OK on a 8.5", and total squeezed on an 8".
